Pampachiri, bosque de piedras

These conical rock formations rise up to about 5 metres and offer an overwhelming view. Over the years, the wind and rain have paved the way for these formations, giving them a variety of silhouettes, which could also be from the magma of the nearby Qarwarasu and Sotaya volcanoes.

1,5 or 2-day trip:

Option 1: We leave after lunch for 3 and a half hour drive to the hotel. On the way, right in the middle, we stop at a colonial bridge to take some photos.

Option 2: We leave in the early hours of the morning and drive 4 hours to the thermal baths of Pincahuacho, Chalhuanca. We enjoy the thermal baths and eat a picnic. In the afternoon we pass the little village of Chalhuanca and drive half an hour to the hotel.

To continue..

After dinner, we go and rest early, because the next day we have breakfast at 7 am. The next day, we drive one hour to ‘la bosque de piedras’ (the woods of the stones), we stop several times to enjoy the many views, llamas and alpacas and take photos of the different sceneries. On the way back we stop at ‘la casa de los Pitufos (house of the Smurfs)’ to eat lunch, before we drive back home in 4 and a half hours. The drive is long but amazingly beautiful, so you will not get bored on the way.
