Pampachiri, bosque de piedras

These conical rock formations rise up to about 5 metres and offer an overwhelming view. Over the years, the wind and rain have paved the way for these formations, giving them a variety of silhouettes, which could also be from the magma of the nearby Qarwarasu and Sotaya volcanoes.

1,5 or 2-day trip:

Option 1: We leave after lunch for a 3,5 hours drive until the hotel. On the way, right in the middle, we stop at a colonial bridge to take some photos.  After dinner in the hotel we go and sleep early, because the next day we have to get breakfast at 7 am.

Option 2: We leave in the late morning and drive 4 hours until the thermal baths of Pincahuacho, Chalhuanca. We enjoy the swimming pool and eat a picnic there. In the afternoon we pass the little village of Chalhuanca and drive half an hour to the hotel. After dinner in the hotel, we go and sleep early, because the next day we have to get breakfast at 7 am.

To continue..

After breakfast we drive one hour until ‘la bosque de piedras’ (the woods of the stones), we stop several times to enjoy the views and take photos of the different sceneries. On the way back we stop at ‘la casa de los Pitufos (house of the Smurfs)’ to eat lunch before we drive back home in 4,5 hours. The drive is long but amazingly beautiful, so you will not get bored.
