We start our trip at 10.00 in the morning and drive for about 2 hours until we arrive at the little village Soraypampa. After lunch we begin our trek to Humantay Lake, located at 4,300 meters. The walk takes us between 1 and 2 hours, depending on our walking pace.
It is also possible to rent horses in the village of Soraypampa to take us up the mountain to the lake. The turquoise waters of Humantay Lake lay peacefully at the base of the picturesque Humantay Glacier and are one of the most stunning places in the Cusco Region of Peru. After walking back to the car, we enjoy a snack. Then we start our drive back to Curahuasi.
Unfortunately, the last year this tour has become very popular. In comparison with our other tours, you will meet more people on the trip. But, to avoid that we adapted our schedule and visit the lake in the afternoon, after most of the tourists.
