From Curahuasi to our private campsite with thermal pool

1-day trip

This hike offers magnificent views of the mountain’s cape and changing vegetation as you descend from 2700 to 1500 meters above sea level. The walk takes between 3 and 5 hours and takes you down the Apurimac Canyon to “the eyebrow of the Peruvian jungle”.

We leave at 6 in the morning and walk down the mountain to our private campsite with thermal pool, by the riverside of the Apurimac River. Along the way down we stop at a panoramic viewpoint to enjoy a healthy breakfast. With some luck you can enjoy the early morning flight of the Condors. We arrive at our campsite around midday to enjoy a traditional lunch. Afterwards we regain strength by relaxing at the pool and set our way back to Curahuasi by car at around 5 p.m.

2-day trip

In this version of the hike, we leave in the afternoon and arrive in the evening to our campsite. We set up camp and prepare a nice barbecue to fill our hungry stomachs after the walk. Afterwards we enjoy a warm campfire under the stars and those who want to can still enjoy night swimming in our thermal pool. In the morning, after a healthy breakfast, there is more time for swimming and relaxing. Around noon we enjoy a traditional lunch before driving back to Curahuasi. It is possible to combine this walk with the walk to the tunnels of Maucachaca, rafting, kayaking or biking from Ccocha to Cconoc.
